Start The Week Strong

Great start to the week with another strength session. My energy recently has been really good and I have a feeling quitting coffee (temporarily) last week helped.

The real point of me temporarily stepping away from caffeine was to prove that I wouldn’t let something control me. I had a very small cup of coffee yesterday and while I did enjoy it, I actually didn’t even finish it. I didn’t even realize it until my wife asked me if I were done or not. Kind wild since coffee was something I looked forward to every day.

Today’s Session focused on my big four moves

  • Handstand Push-up
  • Front Lever to Back Lever
  • Planche Push-up
  • L-Sit Archer Chin-Up

Prep had me doing some mobility and then some freestanding headstand push-ups to get the blood flowing. Then I jumped right into my “grand sets” and really pushed myself today. I started with Handstand Push-Up block by doing deep handstand push-ups on my hand balancing canes. I only got in a couple reps then I dropped down to my low paralletts and kept going. After that it was freestanding headstand push-ups on the floor, then against the wall, then inverted press with feet elevated then finally with feet on the floor. I gave myself 3 minute rest and repeated the Handstand Push-up block again for a total of 2 rounds.

After another 3 minute rest it was time for Front Lever to Back Lever starting with highest level and working my way down for 2 rounds. Same for Planche Push-up and L-Sit Archer Chins on rings.

Pretty damn good session today. 🙂
